The ProActive Parenting Intensive

For Parents of Explosive, Strong Willed  or Highly Reactive Children

When Your Child's  Behavior Feels Out of Control

and Nothing You’ve Tried Is Working

The Problem Parents Face

 If your child is:

  • having meltdowns when they don’t get their way
  • yelling, hitting, or becoming aggressive
  • refusing to listen or do simple things like brushing teeth or going to bed
  • taking over the entire mood of the house

…and you feel like you’re constantly walking on eggshells just trying to keep things from blowing up,

You’re not alone.

And you’re not doing anything wrong...... something important is being missed.

Many parents of explosive children feel trapped in constant power struggles.

Simple requests lead to arguments or meltdowns.
Parents often feel like they are walking on eggshells.

This is for parents who:

  • feel like nothing is working anymore
  • are exhausted from the constant battles
  • feel like their child is running the house
  • are questioning themselves as a parent

Even if you’ve tried therapy, read books, or gotten advice that didn’t help.

What Makes This Parent Intensive Different

 Most approaches focus on:

  • stopping the behavior
  • giving consequences
  • getting your child to comply

When a child is this reactive, those approaches stop working.

Because the behavior you’re seeing is not the problem.

It’s your child’s way of:

  • coping with something overwhelming
  • responding to expectations they can’t manage in that moment
  • signaling that something underneath isn’t working

And until that’s understood, nothing really changes.

Instead of focusing only on controlling behavior, this program helps parents understand the challenges beneath explosive reactions and guide children toward developing the skills they need.

This work is informed by approaches such as:

  • Ross Greene
  • Dan Siegel
  • Stephen Porges
  • Gordon Neufeld
  • Dr Shefali Tabary

and shaped through over my 25 years of working directly with children and families.

How the Intensive works

In this Parent Intensive, we don’t work on your child in isolation.

We work on what’s actually happening in the moments that keep repeating in your home.

You will learn how to:

  • understand what’s really driving your child’s behavior
  • recognize the patterns that lead to meltdowns
  • respond in ways that reduce escalation instead of fueling it
  • help your child feel understood without giving in
  • work through problems together instead of constantly fighting

This is not about being a “perfect parent.”

It’s about finally understanding what’s going on—and knowing what to do when it happens.

Results Parents Often Experience

“Working with Lori taught me long-term parenting strategies that truly help my children develop the tools they need. She helped me separate my own childhood experiences from my parenting so I could respond to my kids more thoughtfully. I’m forever grateful for what I learned.”
— Mother of 16- and 11-year-old daughters

“This work helped me reflect not only on my parenting but also on how I was parented. I realized that many of my fears as a parent came from my own experiences growing up. Lori helped me focus on what my child needs right now and how I can guide and support them in the moment.”
— Mother of a 11-year-old son and 9-year-old daughter

“Lori introduced me to the idea that children want to do well but sometimes don’t yet have the skills to succeed. That insight completely changed how I view behavior. I learned how to guide my son in developing frustration tolerance and coping skills while maintaining a strong, supportive connection.”
— Single mother of a 5-year-old son

What the Intensive is

 Small Group Intensive:

  • 8- week Live Virtual 90 min weekly sessions
  • Small group (6-10 families) so you get real support and attention
  • Each session includes:

  1.  understanding what’s happening
  2.  working through real situations from your home
  3.  guidance on what to do differently

Individual Intensive:

  • 8- week Live Virtual  90 min weekly sessions
  •  1:1  working  directly with me
  • This is much more individualized and accelerated.
  • We’re looking specifically at your child, your patterns, your triggers, and working through it in real time week to week.
  •  Between sessions, you can reach out when needed. I provide brief support by text, email, or occasional short check-ins by phone if something feels more immediate. I’ll always get back to you as soon as I’m able,  usually within the same day.  This isn’t meant to replace our sessions, but to support you in real moments when you’re not sure how to respond.
